Pleasant Distractions

I had a conversation with some of my housemates earlier this week about our favorite games, and I thought I’d expound on a few of mine for just a bit. These are all browser-based games, so they’re only a few clicks away.

Auditorium is an abstract light and music puzzle that’s as much art as it is game. A static, soundless image can hardly do it justice. But you can test play the first few levels at the website, so give it a try. I dare you to not love it.

This is the text-adventure version of the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, written by Douglas Adams in 1984 and, like all the various versions of HGTTG, it’s possessed of familiar characters and motifs, but full of new jokes and completely different plots.

And this one is just cute. Although probably bad for your eyes.
