Parts and Crafts, the kids’ hackerspace that I’ve been working with on and off since the summer, has launched a kickstarter. They’ve made an awesome video to go with it:

Short story even shorter: there are a lot of projects they/we do that we’re working to put into kit form so that kids and kids-at-heart who can’t make it over to our space can still enjoy them.

The Cholera challenge I posted about several months ago is going to be one of them, as is a more recent project we did involving telegraphs and the 1864 election. I haven’t posted about that one in detail, but here’s a photo I snapped at the beginning of the night:

There’s also a lightsaber kit, a build your own bridges kit, a super cool drawing-with-light kit, and tons more, so if it seems like something you want to be a part of, go to the kickstarter and donate, or pass the link along to someone you think will.
